The Forestry Engineering degree allows professionals to be trained to solve environmental problems and manage different natural resources.

The forestry engineer is the one with the most comprehensive tools to promote the conservation of the natural resources used by humans, and who collaborates in different countries to enforce the laws that regulate these matters.

The Forestry Engineering degree, as part of the engineering specializations, lasts the same as most careers of this type, around five years. This duration will always depend on the time each student can dedicate to taking the subjects. Among them we can find some related to microbiology, botany, chemistry, climatology, as well as concepts of algebra, forestry politics and laws, forest entomology, zoology, topography, hydraulic concepts, among other topics linked to the different natural resources.

Graduates of the Forestry Engineering degree can perform various roles, from using their knowledge of the different resources available in a country's states to protect nature; carrying out independent tasks in both conservation and consulting, through a consultancy. Researching ways to exploit different aspects of the environment, respecting the laws and the sustainability of each resource, both renewable and non-renewable. They can also be in charge of protecting animal and forest reserves. The forestry engineer is trained to carry out field work on pests affecting plantations, as well as carry out scientific developments to observe both the evolution or transformation of the objects they work with, or to investigate what factors can affect natural resources and find ways to solve it, carrying out specific projects. On the other hand, in private companies forestry engineers can be in charge of directing a construction project and its implementation, ensuring responsible use of the land and its green spaces.

The work setting for most professionals in this degree is the field, forests, and reserves, although some graduates must perform office tasks and research in enclosed spaces. But these are careers that enjoy the privilege of having the environment as an everyday place and being in direct contact with nature as their main objective.
