Universidad Austral de Chile
The Universidad Austral de Chile offers undergraduate, bachelor's, doctoral, master's, diploma and specialty programs. The UACH is a study community made up of academics and students who, with the assistance of academic support staff and administration and service officers, is oriented toward the purposes of higher education.
The mission of the Universidad Austral de Chile is to contribute to the spiritual and material progress of society through the resources of scientific and humanistic knowledge, technological advancement and artistic creation, in accordance with the values of its own historical tradition, and the need for sustainable development of the region and the country.
Arboretum
Grounds managed by the Centro Experimental Forestal de la UACh
It is an open museum of living, exotic and native species, today totaling around 400 woody species of exotic origin and 450 native species, spread over 27 hectares and complemented by 29.5 hectares of Valdivian rainforest in recovery

Today it totals 64 hectares devoted mainly to education and recreation. While the main beneficiaries are the students of the Faculty, it is also being used by other degrees, both scientific and humanities, and by school-level students. The Undergraduate Schools use the Arboretum mainly for teaching basic sciences such as Botany, Wildlife, Ecology, Soils and Forest Resources.
The area allows access to all members of the public interested in learning about tree species and nature conservation in a peri-urban park, 10 minutes from the university campus.
