Why study Pilates Instruction?
The Pilates discipline or method emerged hundreds of years ago, but it was just over a decade ago that it became popular and completely revolutionized the concept of physical exercise. It seeks to develop the muscles with a strong foundation in balance, concentration and relaxation, which is why many people tend to compare it to Yoga. In addition to the aesthetic benefits its practice provides, it contributes to numerous rehabilitation treatments, which is why it is a very complex method. Deciding to become a professional in this practice involves a great challenge and significant responsibility.
During the Pilates Instructor degree you learn not only the method itself, but also, and fundamentally, matters related to the anatomy of the human body. During the coursework, students learn both to work the method using reformers that make the practitioners' work easier and without them, a situation that will require practitioners to demand more of themselves in terms of balance and mobility.

What is being a Pilates Instructor good for?
—Fundamentally to help other people achieve their physical and also mental goals. Pilates Instructors have the possibility of working in a gym, giving private lessons or working in rehabilitation centers. For the latter, not just any graduate is prepared; I have colleagues who do it and do very well, but you have to be emotionally ready to do it. Our training is associated with well-being and, although after the treatments this is evident and generates satisfaction, it is not easy to take on the work of a person with motor problems, for example.
How long does the Pilates degree last?
—It is divided into three levels, each one year long. In any case, and although from the outside it may seem like simple training, you never stop training, because new techniques are constantly appearing, both aimed at the aesthetics of students and at rehabilitation processes for kinesiologists' patients.
What is negative about training in Pilates?
—Competition. Pilates is booming, both for those who practice it and for those studying Instructor Training, so in a very short time a lot of instructors started appearing, looking for work or opening gyms that exceeded the population's demand. At first, the business was in opening your own Pilates center, because the person who made the initial investment quickly recovered and multiplied the money, due to demand. Today there is an overpopulation of gyms, which makes competition in that sphere very difficult and it is preferable to look for employment in well-known spaces; an achievement that is not easy either, due to the number of qualified professionals there are year after year.
