Military University Technical Degree in Operational Command
The Military University Technician Degree in Operational Leadership prepares non-commissioned officers to lead small teams in the Argentine Army. The training combines military knowledge, leadership, teaching and resource management, with specific preparation according to the Branch of belonging: Infantry, Cavalry, Artillery, Engineers or Communications.
In this context, leading means organizing the work of a group, conveying instructions, coordinating their activities and supervising the completion of assigned tasks. These responsibilities are carried out within the military structure and in accordance with the corresponding hierarchy and functions.

What does the degree involve?
The program prepares you to lead and train the smallest unit of the Branch, that is, the smallest team or group whose leadership corresponds to the non-commissioned officer. Its characteristics and tasks change according to the military specialty.
The program includes a common foundation for all students and content focused on each Branch. In this way, the general preparation in communication, legislation, leadership and teaching is connected to the professional responsibilities that will be carried out within the Army.
Work is also done on the management of State resources and the use of military-application technologies, within the responsibilities of each role.
How is the training organized?
The degree integrates four areas of learning:
- General training: provides tools to understand the social and professional environment, communicate clearly and analyze situations.
- Foundational training: develops the scientific, technological and sociocultural foundations necessary for learning the career.
- Specialized training: covers the knowledge and procedures specific to the Branch of belonging.
- Professionalizing practice: allows you to integrate what you have learned in activities related to future military performance.
The proposal combines study and application. It includes case analysis, problem solving, report writing, discussions on readings and use of simulators and other educational technologies.
What are the differences between the Arms?
In the Army, the word Arm identifies a specialty with its own functions. The technical program includes five paths, which differ in the specific training and in the professionalizing practice.
Infantry
Preparation is aimed at leading and instructing Infantry and support groups. The student develops knowledge to coordinate personnel and perform the technical and leadership functions corresponding to their level.
Cavalry
Training is related to leading and instructing teams connected with tanks, reconnaissance and mounted elements. It includes responsibilities for personnel and assigned resources, within Cavalry organizations.
Artillery
The path prepares students to lead and instruct the group that works with an artillery piece. It also includes support functions in areas such as topography, observation, communications and fire direction, according to the responsibilities corresponding to the rank.
Engineers
Preparation focuses on leading groups that carry out technical tasks in support of military operations. It includes knowledge of Engineer procedures and equipment, connected with infrastructure, mobility and support needs.
Communications
Training is aimed at leading and instructing communications teams and participating in the operation of the systems that allow information to be exchanged between military elements. It includes tasks related to radioelectric means, telecommunications and message centers.

Why are leadership and didactics studied?
The non-commissioned officer has leadership responsibilities as well as training responsibilities. For this reason, they need to learn to organize other people's work, explain tasks and support their learning.
Leadership content relates to team coordination and the exercise of assigned responsibilities. Didactics provides tools to prepare and develop teaching activities within the military sphere.
Communication runs through both functions: it makes it possible to convey instructions, prepare reports and coordinate actions with other members of the organization.
