Why study Psychology?

The Bachelor's Degree in Psychology is an ideal degree for those who are constantly looking for the answers to everything within the human mind. From interpersonal conflicts to internal ones, including global phenomena such as politics and economics, everything has its origin in Psychology. The professional in this discipline will be in charge of something as powerful as people's psyche, which they will help them understand in the most beneficial way possible for the course of their lives.

Do you want to be a Psychologist?

“The field of application of the Psychology degree is very broad. In general, most of our graduates decide to open their own practice, on the one hand because they find it more interesting, but on the other because it is much more rewarding in economic terms. However, many decide to work through companies practicing work and organizational psychology or join the Human Resources area. There are also those who apply their knowledge in NGOs, in the State or in educational or mental institutions or in public hospitals and private clinics. The reality is that the possibilities are countless, just like the schools they can draw on to practice. Today many students prefer not to give their all to Freud and to move closer to holistic schools, such as Gestalt, systemic or cognitive behavioral, leaving aside classic psychoanalysis to provide their patients with faster and more effective treatments,” says the rector of a private university where Psychology is taught. In this regard, she speaks about the ethics that a Psychology professional must have, assuming that without it no one could practice it and that it is the basic pillar of its practice, regardless of the field in which it is carried out.

Psychology involves the human mind, but also the physiological processes triggered by it. This means that most people's physical conditions originate in the psyche, which is why it is a discipline capable of achieving surprising results in those who decide to start treatment. In addition, the interaction of people's psyches and the development of conflicts arising from it both in organizations and in different social settings requires thorough study and work carried out with true vocation. It is a five-year degree that requires a lot of theoretical study and significant amounts of fieldwork.
