Education degrees in Argentina
Education, education sciences, physical education, psychopedagogy, early childhood education (or initial), special education and educational management: these are education degrees you can study in Argentina.
If you explain to a classmate how to solve a problem, help your siblings with homework or have to organize everyone in a group project, you're already practicing some of this.
What education degrees are there in Argentina
There are degrees for teaching in front of a group, like Education or Physical Education; for supporting each person's learning, like Psychopedagogy; and for looking after how a school works, like Educational Management. Those that train teachers combine theory (how children and teenagers develop, how to teach) with practice in real schools.
They are studied at universities and also at teacher training institutes (the profesorados), public and private, in Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Rosario, La Plata, Luján or RÃo Gallegos, among other cities. For university degrees, CONEAU is the body that evaluates and accredits their quality.

Where to study education in Argentina
How to choose between them
Think about what you do without anyone asking you to: explaining something calmly, helping a classmate who doesn't understand, bringing everyone together for a group project.
Then think about whether you see yourself in front of a group, supporting one person at a time or looking at how a school is organized. The first is more like Education or Physical Education; the second, like Psychopedagogy; the third, like Educational Management.
If you're torn between Education and Physical Education, open both profiles, compare what subjects they include and check what the institutions near you require for admission. If you're still undecided, the career test gives you another clue.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to have taught before to get into an education degree?
No. Learning to teach is part of the degree, and each study plan explains what its school placements are like. To start, it's enough that you're interested in helping others understand something.
How long do education degrees last in Argentina?
Special Education is somewhat longer than the rest; Education, Education Sciences, Physical Education, Psychopedagogy and Early Childhood have a similar length, and Educational Management is quite a bit shorter.
Teacher training institute or university: which is better?
Teacher training programs at teacher training institutes prepare you to teach at a level or in a subject; universities also offer bachelor's degrees, which can add research. Compare what qualification each one awards and what it qualifies you for.
What is the difference between Psychopedagogy and a teaching degree?
Someone who teaches works with a group and teaches content. In Psychopedagogy the focus is on how each person learns and on helping when difficulties come up.
Can I study education online?
It depends on the institution. Check whether the program is in person, blended or online; school placements usually require you to attend in person.
