What education degrees are there in Peru

In Peru, the education of the youngest children is called Educación Inicial. These degrees are offered at public and private universities in Lima, Trujillo, Piura, Huancayo, Huancavelica or Pucallpa, among other cities, and their programs usually include pedagogy courses and practicums in schools.

Each university defines the program name, curriculum and admission requirements. The SUNEDU, the superintendency that oversees university higher education, publishes which ones are licensed to operate.

How to choose between them

Remember what you do when no one asks you to: explaining a topic to a friend, looking after your younger siblings, organizing the group on a project.

Then think about whether you see yourself in front of a group or looking at the whole picture: how people learn and how teaching is organized. The first is more like Education or Educación Inicial; the second, like Education Sciences or Educational Management.

If you are unsure between Education and Educación Inicial, compare the courses in each one and the requirements of the university you are interested in. If you are still unsure, try the career test.
