In Argentina the degree to work as a lawyer can be called Abogacía or Derecho, depending on the university. It is taught at public and private universities in Ciudad de Buenos Aires, La Plata, Córdoba, Mendoza, Mar del Plata or Corrientes, among other cities.

There are law degrees (Abogacía, Derecho), research degrees (Criminalística, Criminología), security degrees (Seguridad Ciudadana) and defense degrees (Estrategia Contemporánea). In all of them you read, write and analyze real situations. Before choosing, check on the CONEAU that the degree is accredited.

How to choose between them

Look at what you do when no one asks you to: if you like building arguments, if you enjoy solving a mystery step by step or if you are the one who suggests how to resolve a conflict in your group.

Then ask yourself if you prefer speaking and writing to defend a position (Abogacía or Derecho), studying the evidence in a case (Criminalística), understanding people's behavior (Criminología) or designing security plans (Seguridad Ciudadana).

If you are torn between Abogacía and Criminalística, compare the subjects in their profiles and the admission requirements of each university. The career test helps you see which of these degrees fits your answers.
