How law and security is studied in Colombia

Law is an undergraduate degree offered by public and private institutions in almost all large cities: BogotĆ”, MedellĆn, Cali, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga or Cartagena, among others. Criminalistics and Forensic Psychology are not taught in every city, so it is worth checking where they are offered.

Law works with regulations, Criminalistics with the evidence in a case and Forensic Psychology with psychology applied to justice processes. In all three you read a lot, write precisely and analyze specific cases. If you want to know if a program is approved, look it up in the SNIES.

How to choose between them

Notice what you do when no one asks you to: if you like defending a position in a discussion, if you are interested in discovering what happened from a detail, or if you are curious about why a person acts the way they do.

If arguing, reading and writing in an orderly way is your thing, Law is the broadest path. If you prefer to observe and analyze evidence methodically, look at Criminalistics. And if understanding behavior in a justice context appeals to you, read the Forensic Psychology profile.

If you are unsure between Law and Criminalistics, compare the subjects in their profiles and see which one is offered near you. The career test shows you which of these degrees match your answers.
