Art degrees in Spain
Audiovisual Communication, film, animation, fine arts, dance, acting, music production and sound editing: these are art studies you can take in Spain.
If you draw, record videos, play in a band or join your school drama club, there are studies that build on just that.
How art is studied in Spain: degrees and artistic studies
Some higher artistic studies, such as those in music, dance or drama, are taught in dedicated centers and not only in universities, and their qualifications are equivalent to a university degree. You can see how they are organized on the website of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports.
There are centers in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Vigo, Pamplona or Gran Canaria. Many require a specific test, an audition or a portfolio to get in, and what you submit is usually your own work: a piece, a short film, a performance.
Some degrees work behind the camera, such as Audiovisual Production or Sound Editing.

How to choose between them
Look at what you do without anyone telling you to: recording and editing videos, drawing in your notebooks, singing with friends, preparing the end-of-year performance.
Then think about whether you see yourself creating the work, helping others make it or teaching it. If you enjoy coordinating teams, you might like Audiovisual Production more than being in front of the camera.
If you are torn between Animation and Audiovisual Communication, compare the subjects in each profile and look at the type of qualification: one is a non-university higher study program and the other a degree. The career test can also give you guidance.
